Time

Time doesn't wait on you.
You wait on time.
Time can be something you would trade everything to go back and everything to have more of.
One hour, minute, or second can be the difference between life and death. Time can be healing or painful. Time is precious. We have to have time as a way of structure and measurement for this life. To help us learn consequences to the use of our agency. A way to measure all growth, physically, mentally, and spiritually. The question we will have to answer when we move on to heaven is "what did you do with the knowledge and the TIME you spent on earth?" Are we checking our 'life clock' to see how much time we may have left? Do we realize how much we CAN accomplish with our time? Is it important to us that we make our time count? Maybe we haven't figured out what to do. We all have a purpose. It's up to us to pray and find out what that is.

2012 presidential election results.

Oh so many thoughts and feelings right now. All I can say is it hasn't gotten bad enough yet, there's still about less than half of The United States that still needs to be humbled and They will be suddenly brought to truth with Obama at the head of this ship. Obama does not have The United States best interest at heart. And on a more literal point, Obama isn't American, nor does he respect America, our navy seals, constitution, or our future. He kisses the rings of corrupt muslim leaders, he is pro abortion (killing babies), I could go on and on, not being in alliance with Israel, putting our country into debt, taxing the rich and giving to the lazy. Basically he needs to be not only impeached, but put in jail and tried for those navy seals he denied help to and lost their lives. I'm so disappointed and sad for those who can't see the truth. If they weren't informed before they will be now. And there will be no celebrating then. Just praying, on their knees, for their freedom.

bye bye 27

its my birthday in a few mins. getting older just flies by.
Well, I am now living in Lafayette, LA, and it feels good to be home. I've been traveling a bit visiting family and a little side work with my boyfriend, Brian. He has moved here also, and I'm so excited for him to be here! I am very lucky that he's mine, i love that man so much. I have a lot to be grateful for. I'm happy to be where i am in my life. I have a lot that I want to accomplish. I am not promised tomorrow, so I don't have time to waste. Tonight my mother read to me her journal entry the night before I was born, of course we could barely get through it without tearing up, it was such a sweet letter to me. We called Daniel and Amber tonight and read scriptures as a family and had prayer. And April cut her thumb pretty bad cutting a carrot, bless her heart, she almost fainted. Well it's 12:00am, happy birthday to me :)

This I know

i never know where to start. i want to write about how happy i am and that i feel blessed to be where i am in life right now. i've had many miracles happen to me, and for me. I have had some rough moments that have taught me to be humble, to follow the commandments, and to trust God. i remember being very sick, physically and spiritually at times. Both of which have humbled me. we have those experiences to remember Who God Is, and who we are, that we need Him and we need the Atonement, and that He loves us unconditionally, and when no one else is there, He is. Its at those times we reconnect with our Maker and our Savior. I think God has been very merciful with me, and I am deeply grateful. He is merciful with all of us. How fast we forget His miracles and his mercy in our lives. How easy is it to do what He asks? Compared to what He's done for us, its not difficult at all to follow His commandments. I don't believe in coensidences. I know God Lives, I know He loves us more than anyone could ever love us. We just need to have faith and believe and trust and follow His commandments.

love

what do we really want? what do i really want? love. and its not that we want it. we need it. and we'll get it in whatever form we choose to. but we also need to give it.

have you ever possessed something so beautiful... as unconditional love?

but then it really isn't a possession is it? because it doesn't exist if its not given.

There is Beauty

There are beautiful experiences to have, beautiful blessings to enjoy, peace to feel, love to give, souls to find, knowledge to gain, help to give, children to teach, relationships to strengthen, talents to develope and enjoy. Beauty is around us, in a kind smile from a stranger, in a dear friend who somehow new what you needed, in the children, in families, in the people who show genuine concern for another. The Spirit of God gives the most beautiful feelings. The earth and sky are beautiful. There is Beauty all around.

General Con. Fall 2009

"I am convinced that there is no simple formula or technique that would immediately allow you to master the ability to be guided by the voice of the Spirit. Our Father expects you to learn how to obtain that divine help by exercising faith in Him and His Holy Son, Jesus Christ. Were you to receive inspired guidance just for the asking, you would become weak and ever more dependent on Them. They know that essential personal growth will come as you struggle to learn how to be led by the Spirit."
"I witness that as you gain experience and success in being guided by the Spirit, your confidence in the impressions you feel can become more certain than your dependence on what you see or hear."

-Elder Richard G. Scott Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Simple ways are not always Easy & Easy ways are not always Simple

Simple being : clear/basic/truth; not elaborate or artificial; plain; unadorned; modest; not complicated; not complex or compound; single; mere; bare: fact; free of deceit or guile; sincere; unconditional; unpretentious: humble or lowly; not mixed.

Easy being : not hard or difficult; free from pain, discomfort, worry, or careproviding; lenient; not difficult to influence or overcome; effortless.

We live in a very easy-seeking world, which often results in very difficult consequences. The very definition of easy is effortless, free from pain (see above). The reason we exist is to love, to progress, and that is not done without effort, pain, discomfort, or some sort of difficult sacrifice.

Being simple is often difficult, but it is the way.

Honesty

So... what would happen if we were all completely honest. Well, the book I'm reading (Real Love) says its part of the steps to give/receive unconditional love. I think I should do it, it would really force me to see my true character. For the most part, I've been a lot more honest with people lately, even if it makes me look bad or hurts them. But there are certain situations where some people just don't need to know every little thing. I think what the book is referring to is being honest with others about who you are, your honest feelings. If you just put it (honesty) out there, then you can only be exactly who you are and can't feel pressured to keep up a facade. If you don't hide anything, then you have nothing to hide. (i know how that sounded but im making a point :) And there is no point in making a facade because you're not allowing the other person really know you, and love you (regardless of flaws). Give them the truth and let them make their decision if they accept you or not, and if they don't, that's their choice, even if you feel it's the wrong one. We try so hard to control, that we even try to control someone else's feelings for us, by the way we communicate who we are to them. That is not our right or responsability. We can only love unconditionally, expecting nothing in return. We can only control ourselves. And if someone doesn't accept who we are, then its ok. As my wise Father and Mother have said to me "Not everybody is gonna like you, and hey, thats ok, thats about them". Its reassuring to know that I don't have to try to please everyone, that I can just be myself, and allow others to know the real me, no matter what.

Humanitarian/Goodwill Ambassador/something to do with Politics/Communicator/Nurse/Writer...
What kind of degree or job is that??? Well, when i figure that out, I'm going to pick a school and do it. And i will be accepting donations :) Basically I wanna be Angelina Jolie. I want to travel, help people get what they need, and then write about it. The main part is the helping people... weather its supplies, medical, political rights, better institutions for school, hospitals, community centers, basic needs, spiritual needs, whatever it may be. It just doesn't seem right, living with all the comforts we have and worrying about the smallest issues in our lives not being perfect, when others are struggling for basic needs. Its easy to ignore because we are creatures of habbit and stick to what we know. But that's just not enough, thats not why we're here, thats not what life's all about. So I've asked myself "How much longer will I be selfish?" And, how far will that get me in my eternal progression? I actually believe that the progression is at a stand still untill we realize that following the commandments means that we do it completely, in order to progress. If we hold back even a little bit, then we haven't "gotton" the message. No more selfishness. But in order to do this, we have to really want eternal life. And how much we want eternal life will be determined by our obedience, no matter how difficult this life is.

so...be silent

SO... I bought a SOBE (black & blue berry brew) this morning before work, and I just looked under the top and it says "SILENT TREATMENT". I think this is a sign, just what the doctor ordered.... I think I need some peace and quiet and time to listen.
Anyway, I'm all settled in my new apartment. Im excited about decorating it. I'm thinking... asian bathroom, Itallian bedroom, Hawaiian balcony, spanish kitchen, Indian dining rm, and Old hollywood living room.
Work is going fine. I lease apartments, they give me money, works for me.
I do feel that its time to do some deep soul searching, cleansing, re-conditioning, re-defining, and nurturing... in that order.
I need to figure out 'my thing' ... whatever that means.

Dreamy Idealist??

Take the free personality test!

“Per aspera ad astra,” or “Through the night to the light,” is your motto.

Dreamy Idealists are very cautious and therefore often appear shy and reserved to others. They share their rich emotional life and their passionate convictions with very few people. But one would be very much mistaken to judge them to be cool and reserved. They have a pronounced inner system of values and clear, honourable principles for which they are willing to sacrifice a great deal. Joan of Arc or Sir Galahad would have been good examples of this personality type. Dreamy Idealists are always at great pains to improve the world. They can be very considerate towards others and do a lot to support them and stand up for them. They are interested in their fellow beings, attentive and generous towards them. Once their enthusiasm for an issue or person is aroused, they can become tireless fighters. For Dreamy Idealists, practical things are not really so important. They only busy themselves with mundane everyday demands when absolutely necessary. They tend to live according to the motto “the genius controls the chaos” - which is normally the case so that they often have a very successful academic career. They are less interested in details; they prefer to look at something as a whole. This means that they still have a good overview even when things start to become hectic. However, as a result, it can occasionally happen that Dreamy Idealists overlook something important. As they are very peace-loving, they tend not to openly show their dissatisfaction or annoyance but to bottle it up. Assertiveness is not one of their strong points; they hate conflicts and competition. Dreamy Idealists prefer to motivate others with their amicable and enthusiastic nature. Whoever has them as superior will never have to complain about not being given enough praise.
As at work, Dreamy Idealists are helpful and loyal friends and partners, persons of integrity. Obligations are absolutely sacred to them. The feelings of others are important to them and they love making other people happy. They are satisfied with just a small circle of friends; their need for social contact is not very marked as they also need a lot of time to themselves. Superfluous small talk is not their thing. If one wishes to be friends with them or have a relationship with them, one would have to share their world of thought and be willing to participate in profound discussions. If you manage that you will be rewarded with an exceptionally intensive, rich partnership. Due to their high demands on themselves and others, this personality type tends however to sometimes overload the relationship with romantic and idealistic ideas to such an extent that the partner feels overtaxed or inferior. Dreamy Idealists do not fall in love head over heels but when they do fall in love they want this to be a great, eternal love.
Adjectives which describe your type: introverted, theoretical, emotional, spontaneous, idealistic, dreamy, effusive, pleasant, reserved, friendly, passionate, loyal, perfectionist, helpful, creative, composed, curious, obstinate, with integrity, willing to make sacrifices, romantic, cautious, shy, peace-loving, vulnerable, sensitive, communicative, imaginative

Sometimes it takes a storm...

I feel more and more like this tree lately.... except trying to withstand a really strong storm that i know is passing... eventually. I feel blown around and its all I can do to stay standing. But for some reason, deep down, I feel like my foundation is holding me up, giving me strength. Sometimes I get so excited about how tall I'm growing and how beautiful the branches and flowers, that I forget to acknowledge what's holding me up. Sometimes it takes a storm to help me to stay grounded. I await the releif after this one.

Alma 41:15 "For that which ye do send out shall return unto you again..."

I had posted a blog about some of my experiences here in Utah and I decided to take it down... because ... well, why dwell on the past. I am actually very happy with where I am entirely. But I do have hope that it will only get better. And when it gets harder, I have learned that I can still maintain my center / happiness / hope... because whatever it is won't conquer me, and i can get through it. The biggest thing I've learned lately, is that problems will arise... but I will learn how to handle each one more and more gracefully... with more faith... and more patience... and more humility. I have hope that God looks out for me because I believe what he says. I believe in his promises. And if I'm not happy, its because I'm not doing my part. I need to listen more carefully to his guidance. It makes sense.

I ONCE ASKED SOMEONE THEIR MOST AND LEAST FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT ME WERE....

FOR SOMEONE WHOM I HADN'T KNOWN VERY LONG.... I FELT LIKE HE KNEW ME BETTER THAN I KNEW MYSELF AT THAT POINT.

- My favorite thing about Aftan Diane Walker (T. R. ) ;-)
Physical aspect...your eyes. They say a mouthful. Non physical aspect...there is a very deep and underlying ocean of thought and compassion that you carry with you and reflects how you see the world. I do sense a little struggle within yourself on topics and ideals, but your well anchored and have a kind soul.
- My least favorite thing about you...sometimes this ocean of profound thought is so underlying that someone wanting to share ideas and thoughts and emotions, has their work cut out for them. however the reason I notice this aspect of you is because I also tend to do the same, and hide a whole side of me from people at times. So it's something I can identify with. And the fact that I notice this in you and can relate, makes me feel good and not so alone as a human being ...so then it becomes one of my favorite aspects of you...so I guess I can't really think of much I don't like about you.

I wrote a poem...

I’VE FORGOTTON
The moment I knew I loved you
Our first and second first kiss
The smell you left on my pillow
The warmth of your breath
How much I love your smile
The deep blue in your eyes
Everything about you
Even the tears you made me cry.
